[S1000][DataDirect][ODBC SQL Server Driver]

Hi,

I have a Microsoft sql server installed on windows 2008 R2 server. I am trying to connect to sql server from linux machine. I have installed the unixODBC manager and driver. 

I am able to connect and see the below output 
[root@MUMLPBMAMTDV001 config]# isql -v MOMDB MOMDBUSER Pbcms@1234
+---------------------------------------+
| Connected!                            |
|                                       |
| sql-statement                         |
| help [tablename]                      |
| quit                                  |
|                                       |
+---------------------------------------+

After that, it is showing me error whenever I am trying to run any query,

[S1000][DataDirect][ODBC SQL Server Driver]@Ô¿
[S1000][DataDirect][ODBC SQL Server Driver]
[ISQL]ERROR: Could not SQLPrepare


My linux machine is -   Linux MUMLPBMAMTDV001 2.6.18-348.6.1.el5 #1 SMP Fri Apr 26 09:21:26 EDT 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

SQl Driver - file /sasinst/sqlodbc/lib/S0msss22.so

Hi,

You may have installed unixODBC but that error indicates that you are ending up with the Data Direct driver. I have no idea how well that works with a open driver manager.

Well, I would suggest either using a driver that plays nicely with unixODBC (Easysoft's for example) or stick to using the driver manager that that driver expects. I do know that their drivers do some very odd things like return UTF-8 as SQL_WCHAR. I suspect thats whats going on here.

There is microsoft driver for linux for sql server.

"The ODBC driver for SQL Server allows native applications (C/C++) running on Linux to connect to SQL Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2012, and SQL Azure Database."

I didn't manage to run it on arch linux, but it ran fine on red hat.
