[01000][unixODBC][Driver Manager]Can't open lib '/usr/sap/D101/libodbcHDB.so' : file not found

Kurva, Ravi Shankar

Hi,

I have got the below error when testing  on AIX 5.3

[01000][unixODBC][Driver Manager]Can't open lib '/usr/sap/D101/libodbcHDB.so' : file not found

I have run ldd and all the files are present on server. Please assist in fixing this issue.

oracle@essbidv5:/usr/sap/D101> ldd /usr/sap/D101/libodbcHDB.so

/usr/sap/D101/libodbcHDB.so needs:

         /usr/lib/libpthread.a(shr_xpg5_64.o)

         /usr/lib/libC.a(shr_64.o)

         /usr/lib/libC.a(shrcore_64.o)

         /usr/lib/libcrypt.a(shr_64.o)

/oracle/product/10.2.0/db/lib:/usr/lib:/usr/sap:/usr/vacpp/lib:/usr/sap/D101:/usr/lpp:/usr/ccs

Thanks and Regards

Re: [01000][unixODBC][Driver Manager]Can't open lib '/usr/sap/D101/libodbcHDB.so' : file not found

David Ritter-3

It looks like you are using a 64-bit ODBC driver.  Are you using a 32-bit unixODBC driver manager?  That would explain why the driver manager can not “see” 64-bit the shared library.

You need to configure, make and make install unixODBC to make it as a 64bit binary

Thats because I think I remember you explicitly setting that. Thats the size of a variable SQLLEN type, not if the build is 64 or 32 bit. try

file /usr/local/bin/isql

Thats because I think I remember you explicitly setting that. Thats the size of a variable SQLLEN type, not if the build is 64 or 32 bit. try

A couple things that I saw within the log file:

checking if platform is 64 bit... No

It says that it is configured for created shared libraries, but no
reference to those files during the install phase.

the driver it is trying to open is in the /usr/sap/D101 directory, not
the /usr/local directory.

Hopefully that provides some sort of hint.

Kurva, Ravi Shankar
Hi Mike,

We are trying to connect to HANA database from Oracle on AIX.
We have to provide hana drivers in odbc.ini to establish the connection between these 2 databases.
Please correct me if wrong.

Thanks and Regards
Ravi Shankar

Mike
From the log, it looks like the platform you are building the drivers
on is 32 bit.

Are you building the drivers on the AIX box, or is that where the
Oracle database is?

Are you building the drivers on the AIX box, or is that where the Oracle database is?

Re: [01000][unixODBC][Driver Manager]Can't open lib '/usr/sap/D101/libodbcHDB.so' : file not found

Mike
OK.

But for some reason configure isn't seeing it that way...something is
definitely wrong with the environment you are compiling in.

Any chance you can try building it on a different 64-bit AIX box?

I'm just going off of the configure log here...seems odd it would
report "checking if platform is 64-bit....no"

But I don't do much with AIX....maybe that is normal?
